I hope this week has helped to remind you that there are so many things to be thankful for in your life! This time of year can get so crazy preparing for the holidays, visiting with friends and family and dealing with the general hustle and bustle. Its easy to get so wrapped up! This marks just about a year that I ventured into a career change and I could not be more Thankful! What seemed like a terribly stressful time in my life has turned out to be the biggest blessing. With so many changes happening in the past year I can barely remember what life was like just a year ago. We have turned a corner in our lives and oh what a beautiful life it is!

What a beautiful weekend we had here in Georgia! The weather was a spring tease that we might just pay for later…but I don’t care!! It was blue skies and lovely temperatures, just right for being out and about all weekend! We did LOTS of bouncing around, catching up with family, visited with friends and eating some YUMMY food! Such a fun weekend. After all that visiting this pregnant girl may have found her limit. Let’s just say I spent the whole of sunday evening recovering, trading off between the sofa and the ball. (It’s hard to stop when there is so much fun to be had!)

Happy Happy on this dreary monday. I hope you had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed yourself! We caught up with friends, did lots of things around the house…and of course I squeezed in a few baby-Flo arts and crafts moments!! The dresser is ALMOST finished and I can’t wait to share it with you!!!
The last few months have been so crazy for us that today’s mantra really hits home. There have been so many new experiences, surprise changes and unexpected twists & turns in our lives that I was starting to wonder what the universe was trying to do to us!! I try to stay positive and always tell myself that everything happens for a reason and these last few months have proved that sentiment RIGHT! We are exactly where we are meant to be, doing what we are meant to be doing at this moment and there is nothing handed to us that we can’t handle (even if at the time it seems insurmountable!)

It’s officially 2015…are you ready??!!? Its time to kick off the first week of the new year and jump back into life (did the holiday’s really come and go so quickly?) I hope you are happy, rested and ready to go! Although I am so grateful for the wonderful but hectic holiday season we had, I’m excited about the idea of getting back to life. Its time for new and WONDERFUL things to happen. So cheers to a new year, a positive attitude and the many blessings that 2015 has in store for us!

OH what a year it has been! To say that 2014 has been a roller coaster would be a WILD understatement!! I’m never one to look back on a year and say good riddance….but I must admit that I’m ready for a new year and a fresh start. Not that this year hasn’t been amazing (hello…find out we are expecting a little one) it’s just had a few pretty significant bumps thrown in there as well.
But all things considered I choose to take this day as a chance to remember all the blessings that have come our way and be thankful for all that we have in our lives. We are so incredibly lucky to have the most amazing friends and family around us; supporting us and celebrating with us.
So Cheers to all of the wonderful things that 2014 has brought you and your family. Cheers to all the laughs and fun times. Cheers to all the lessons learned and personal growth. Cheers to making 2015 even better!!

You all know we LOVE a good thrift store find here at HSE. There is something so exciting about the “hunt” and then the “what if” when you find an item that needs a good home and a little love. Sometimes you find things that you have the perfect place for, sometimes you find things that just need a little cleaning and are good to go. Other times you find things that you are unsure of their function…but they are just too cool to pass up.
Enter random number box…I was purusing the aisles of my local Goodwill when I stumbled on a very cool looking, beat up wooden box with these random number dials. I had NO clue what its original function was…but I just knew i needed to have it!! What i loved about it is that it happened to have 4 number dials…just the right amount to display a special date perhaps?!?
This was a SUPER simple update that gave this cool found object a new life!! CLEAN IT / SAND IT / PAINT IT. Seriously does not get easier than that!! Once he was showing off his pretty new color, I turned the number dials to our wedding date (10.04.2008) as a little nod to a very special day!! Right now he has the perfect home adding a little pop of color to my white framed collage wall (i promise i’ll get around to some pictures of that wall someday soon…promise!) and I must admit I smile a little extra when i catch a glimpse!!

I was introduced to the Mountains in Motion video by a friend, who suggested watching whenever I needed a Zen moment. Mountains in Motion is a short film, which documents landscapes of the Canadian Rockies through time-lapse photography. The creative force behind the film is a local Atlanta partnership, The Upthink Lab. Cameras were set up on in various locations in the Canadian Rockies for days, weeks and even months at a time, capturing changes in seasons and landscapes.
The video reignited my passion for travel and adventure. It left me inspired and in awe of the beauty that surrounds us in nature. While watching, all of the worries of the day melted away and I felt completely at peace.
When viewing, be sure to turn up your speakers, sit back and relax…

I am a crazy ball of all things house and home inspiration these days. With a new casa, the list of things we want to do is insanely long (and forever changing!) As the weather starts to change and fall is around the corner…I’m PUMPED!! I love love love the gorgeous weather that comes with fall and my favorite part is when the nights start to have a little chill in them…perfect time to sit around snuggled up around a crackling fire. So in the interest of searching for inspiration the debate of the day is “firepit vs fireplace“.

Happy first day back from a long holiday weekend! These days are always a bit rough for some reason!! This year has had a LOT of crazy turns for me and my most dear; And thru it all I have been most inspired by the beauty and strength that has surfaced. Life will always have a way of keeping us surprised and on our toes and the only thing we can control is how we handle what’s thrown at us. So here’s to all of those strong, beautiful and positive people out there.
